In the course of an acrylic painting class critique in college, the professor said to me, "Everything is a watercolor painting to you, isn't it?" As I considered his comment, I realized it's true. Acrylics are thinned; oil is thinned. All paints are thinned until they resemble watercolors more than anything else. I still enjoy the idea of different paints...I just want all those different paints to behave like watercolors.
